Information we collect
Appointment, estimate and service request forms
When you book an appointment, request a free estimate or request service, we collect the information you enter in the form. This may include your name, phone number, email address, service address and a description of the electrical work you need. We use it only to answer your request, schedule and carry out the work, and contact you about your job.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form. We also collect the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to see if you use it. The Gravatar privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public next to your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, avoid uploading images that contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site, you can choose to save your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience, so you don’t have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to check whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we also set several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login lasts for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies are removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie is saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and only records the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Our analytics and security tools (described below) may also set cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the site may not work properly if you do.
Analytics and security
We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand how visitors use our site, such as which pages they view, how long they stay and how they found us. This helps us improve the website. Google may collect your IP address, device and browser information, and usage data. Learn more at https://policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
We use Google reCAPTCHA on our forms to protect the site from spam and abuse. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information and sends it to Google for analysis. Its use is governed by the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and Terms of Service (https://policies.google.com/terms).
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (for example videos, images, maps or articles). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if you had visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor how you interact with the embedded content. This includes tracking your interaction with it if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run our website and business, such as our hosting provider, email delivery service, analytics and spam protection providers. We may also share it when required by law.
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
How long we retain your data
Information you submit through our forms is kept only as long as we need it to provide our services, keep business and tax records, and meet our legal obligations.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are kept indefinitely. This lets us recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users who register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit or delete their personal information at any time, except that they cannot change their username. Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, have left comments or have submitted a form, you can ask for an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you gave us. You can also ask us to erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include data we are required to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes.
To make a request, contact us at tcelectric413@gmail.com or (757) 977-4827.
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked by an automated spam detection service. Emails sent from this website, such as form notifications, are delivered through Google’s email services. Analytics and reCAPTCHA data is processed by Google, as described above.
Children’s privacy
This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
